Itinerary of the 3 Days Tour from Errachidia
First Day: Get to Errachidia and Merzouga
This is the first day of your 3-day tour of the Merzouga Desert. We pick you up at the airport. Next, go south to reach Merzouga in the Sahara Desert. Have dinner and stay the night in Merzouga.
Second day: a tour of the Merzouga Desert
We will spend the day exploring the Merzouga area after breakfast. The area has a lot of amazing sights, like sand dunes, a wild lake, caves, fossil areas, and beautiful beaches. Where you can do a lot of fun things outside.
First, we start our trip in Merzouga by going off-road to see an old eyeliner mine. After that, we go see the gypsies in their hand-woven tent. While you drink your Berber tea, learn about how they live. The next stop on our trip is Khamlia town, where you can enjoy Gnaoua music and dance shows. The people who live there are from sub-Saharan Africa, mostly Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Some free time to eat lunch somewhere. After that, we go for a walk in the grove of palm trees. When you’re ready, take a short drive to see Merzouga Lake, which is also known as Flamingo Lake.
Afternoon: You ride camels across the sandy desert, stopping on top of a high hill to watch the sunset along the way. Then you keep going to the fancy camp. You can dance around the campfire to the music of the Berber drums while looking up at the clear night sky. Dinner and a night at the camp.
Three-day: trip from Merzouga to Rissani, Erfoud, and Errachidia airport
In the middle of the desert, you have to get up early in the morning to see the beautiful sunrise. Breakfast is on your own time. Then you ride camels back to Merzouga, where your driver is waiting. When your flight time comes up, we may leave the area to go to Rissani town. Rissani, which used to be the capital of Tafilalet, is still a major trade hub in the area. We go to Erfoud and visit one of the preserved marble businesses after taking a walk through the Rissani souk. Then we’ll drive to Errachidia, stopping at scenic spots along the way, such as the amazing view of the Ziz valley. We have finally arrived at Errachidia airport. The desert tour is over.
