Day 1
Your 2 day tour from Marrakech to Merzouga will begin with your driver from Morocco Sahara Trips company picking you up early in the morning at your hotel/riad in Marrakech and departing to the High Atlas mountains, passing through Tizi N'Tichka port with stops for panoramic views and photographing the Berber villages and its beautiful landscape. Afterward, we proceed to Ait ben Haddou (fortified town), a Unesco World Heritage Site since 1986, where many renowned films have been shot, including Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, The Mummy… Then we'll continue on to the desert to the stunning dunes of Merzouga, where we'll experience Camel trekking through the golden Erg Chebbi desert with a stop to watch the incredible sunset over the dunes, try Sandboarding in the sand if you're interested, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes… until the sun goes down.
Day 2
After witnessing the desert sunrise, we return to Merzouga on camels or, alternatively, in a 4×4 vehicle. After breakfast and a quick shower in the hotel, we begin our return trip to Marrakech, passing through the Berber villages of the Atlas Mountains (Nkoub, Agdez, etc.). This marks the conclusion of our 2-day desert excursion from Marrakech to Merzouga.

When to go
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most comfortable seasons for this route: warm days, cool desert nights and clear light over the dunes. Summer brings very hot afternoons in the south, so days start early and rest hours fall in the middle of the day. Winter is quiet and bright, with cold nights in the desert and possible snow on the High Atlas passes.

To secure your reservation, a deposit of €100–€200 is required. The exact amount is stated in your final quotation and depends on the total booking value and the services you choose.
The deposit can be paid securely through PayPal. The remaining balance is normally paid in cash directly to your driver at the start of the tour.
Card payment can also be arranged. A 5% processing fee applies to payments made by card.
Your booking is fully confirmed once the deposit has been received and written confirmation has been sent with the final itinerary, desert camp details and payment summary.
We share pick-up times, accommodation details and packing suggestions for the desert once your dates are confirmed.
