About Merzouga
Why Most Morocco Desert Tours Go to Merzouga
Merzouga sits at the edge of Erg Chebbi, the tallest field of sand dunes in Morocco. It is the classic place for a Sahara night: a camel trek at sunset, dinner and music at a Berber camp, and sunrise over the dunes.
Our office is in Ksar Tabomiate, Merzouga, so the desert part of each trip is run by people who live here. Short trips start from Errachidia or Marrakech; longer routes from Fes, Casablanca or Tangier cross the Atlas Mountains and kasbah valleys on the way.
